The burrs themselves
Most buyers arrive knowing the price point and the shelf, but not the burr. This is the short version — our engineers confirm diameter, geometry, RPM and motor torque, then send you ground samples from your own beans before any steel is cut.

Titanium nitride roughly triples burr life and holds the edge. Alumina ceramic goes further still, but chips if a stone gets past the hopper.
The range
Every model here ships from moulds, castings and burr cutters that exist today, so you skip the tooling cost and four weeks of the calendar. Finish, dial curve, firmware and packaging are still yours to specify.
64 mm flat steel on a stepless worm collar, with a 250 g hopper, bellows purge and a magnetic dosing cradle.
The same burr set with the hopper deleted: a 20 g single-dose funnel, anti-popcorn weight and a knock lever. Retention measured under 0.1 g.
83 mm M2 flats on a 900 W motor for bars that dial in once and grind all through service. Portafilter fork and timed dose.
Filter-first geometry with a 250 g hopper and a sealed grounds bin, reaching 1,100 µm for cold brew and French press.

How a grinder is made
Eight steps, all inside one building in Taichung. Nothing is subcontracted except die casting and anodising, both within twenty minutes of the plant.
Discs are laser-cut from SUS440C or M2 strip, vacuum hardened and cryo-tempered to 60–64 HRC.
Cutting geometry is milled on five-axis CNC, then the flats are lapped until runout is inside 0.01 mm.
Die-cast aluminium bodies are CNC finished, then anodised, powder-coated or brushed to the model's colourway.
DC brushless and AC induction motors are wound, balanced and paired to a helical or planetary gearbox on site.
Burr carriers are seated in a dial-gauge jig. Parallelism is signed off per unit, not per batch.
Zero point is set against a reference sieve and the collar indexed, so setting 12 means the same thing on every unit.
Every unit grinds a test dose measured by laser diffraction, then passes hipot, leakage and temperature rise.
Burr brush, dosing cup and a printed dial card go into a die-cut insert; cartons are drop-tested to ISTA 3A.
Downstream
Our grinders are judged on somebody else's espresso machine, on somebody else's counter, by somebody who has never heard of us. That is the whole argument for measuring particle distribution on every unit instead of every batch — by the time the shot pulls, the grind is the one variable we controlled.
The plant
A grinder is three hard problems bolted together — a cutting tool, a drive and a dose. The plant is laid out for exactly that: burr shop at one end, motor winding in the middle, alignment and calibration benches feeding the test wall.
OEM & ODM
Around 70 % of what leaves the plant carries somebody else's name on the front. The rest starts as a conversation about a gap between two grinders already on the shelf.
Tell us the drink and the duty cycle; we pick burr diameter, tooth geometry, RPM and motor torque. You get a particle-distribution report against your reference grinder — from your own beans — before tooling is quoted.
Die-cast or extruded bodies, CNC-machined collars, anodised, powder-coated, brushed or soft-touch. Tooling is cut in Taichung, T1 samples in 21–30 days, and the tool stays documented under your part number.
Timed dose, weight-based dose over a load cell, OLED or single-knob UI, 110 V and 230 V variants, ErP standby under 0.5 W. Dial curve, menu language and start-up behaviour are all yours to specify.
Colour cartons, moulded-pulp or EPE inserts, printed dial cards and grind guides, multilingual manuals, barcodes, serial and country-of-origin labelling. We hold your artwork and your certification files.

Quality
Burrs go dull, alignment drifts, grounds stay in the chute, motors cook on a busy morning, gearboxes whine, and eventually something gets dropped. Each one has a rig on our floor and a report in your file.
A test dose from every unit through laser diffraction; span and fines fraction logged against the model's reference curve.
Ten 18 g doses with the chute weighed dry before and after. Single-dose models must stay under 0.1 g.
300 kg of coffee through a sample set, then runout and grind spread re-measured to prove the curve has not walked.
1,000 hours at rated duty with thermal cut-out cycling; commercial bodies run 8 kg an hour for a week straight.
dB(A) at one metre in a semi-anechoic box, plus a vibration sweep so the unit does not walk across a counter.
Hipot at 1,500 V, leakage current, temperature rise, 10,000 cord-flex cycles and an EMC pre-scan before the notified body sees it.
Where it ships
Share of last year's export volume by destination, shipped out of Taichung. Voltage, plug type, manual language and certification paperwork are handled per region.
FAQ
500 units per model per finish on existing platforms, 300 on the 83 mm commercial body and 150 on the 98 mm. Mixed finishes in one order are fine as long as each finish reaches 100 units — below that the anodising line's setup costs more than the parts.
A grinder programme is usually USD 18,000–65,000 in tooling: die-cast housing, collar, hopper and chute, plus burr cutters if the geometry is new. You pay for it, so you own it — it stays in our shop under your part number and you can call it back at any time. We normally rebate part of it against the first two production orders.
Flats give a narrower particle spread, which espresso rewards, and they scale to volume. Conicals feed themselves, need less torque and fit a smaller, cheaper body. So home all-purpose grinders are usually conical, and espresso and café grinders flat. We will grind and ship samples of both from your beans before you commit to either.
Yes — 100/110/120 V 60 Hz and 220/230/240 V 50 Hz, with UK, EU, US, AU, JP and CN cord sets. We hold CE, UKCA, FCC, ETL and PSE files on our own platforms and hand the test reports to your importer. Certification issued in your own name is quoted separately, and we book the lab slot for you.
21–30 days from approved drawings to T1 samples, then 45–60 days for mass production once samples are signed off. Repeat orders on existing tooling ship in 30–35 days. Add roughly two weeks if a new burr geometry has to be cut and life-tested.
Existing models ship as paid samples at unit price plus courier, credited back against the first production order. For a custom programme the first sample is the T1 unit. Loose burr sets and bags of ground coffee are free, so you can compare distribution before anyone spends money on steel.
Yes — colour cartons, moulded-pulp or EPE inserts, printed dial cards and grind guides, multilingual manuals, barcodes, serial labels and retail display trays. Send artwork as vector files with 3 mm bleed; you get a printed proof and a fully packed sample before the run.
FOB Taichung by default; EXW, CIF and DDP on request. Grinders are dense rather than bulky, so we quote by carton and pallet rather than by container volume — a 40 HQ typically carries 1,100–1,600 home units or 380–520 commercial bodies.
